Increased use of plant extracts

Feed Tech 12.2 2008 - www.AllAboutFeed.net

The magazine “FeedTech” (Volume 12 2008, Number 2) reports the increased use of plant extracts in feed production.  Since the EU ban on antibiotic growth promoters in 2006 the use of plant extracts and essential oils as alternatives has risen from an EU average of 55 % in 2005 to 70 % in poultry feeds and 80 % in pig feeds.  In non-EU countries the use of such feed additives has increased to 61 % in poultry and 24 % in pigs.

This survey underlines the increasing importance of phytogenic products like digestarom.  And with over 270 positive trials to date, we are confident there is no other phytogenic feed additive on the market with a comparable amount of evidence as digestarom.

Among usual trials under condition of regular farming data from research on prestigious Universities are available verifying the effect of digestarom on (examples):

- Activating the immune system
- Apparent and ileal digestibility
- Research on the micro flora in the gut
- Research on fistulated cows and artificial rumen
