The Slovak centre for agriculture research located in Nitra has finalized a large research project on sows. The goal was to determined the influence of digestarom on performance parameters in lactating sows. As essential positive effect optimization of the condition of the sows fed with the phytogenic feed additive was observed. This refers to a better protein digestion. At the same time the animals of the digestarom group had less weight loss during lactation. This effect was especially verified by young sows. As such, it can concluded that animals fed with digestarom will come into the next production cycle earlier. This is underlined by the amount of progesterone and oestradiole verified in the discussed research project.
The milk parameters indicates that the sows in the digestarom group where better adjusted on milk production especially in the time after giving birth.
